Parking charge squashed

Hi guys, got a ticket for £45, doubled if I don't pay within 14 days.
Parking was max 90mins and we were just under 2 hours, though did use the shop for about £30 and kept receipt.
The fine was issued by a company who are part of a trade body.
Thanks to advice on this site and browsing the forums, I appealed, blaming delays in opticians, and wifes migraine etc and also sent a copy of shop receipt by email. They have cancelled it! The whole process took a week from my email appeal.
GL all who fight the fight.
Thank you for your email in regards to the above parking charge.
We can confirm that the above parking charge has been cancelled.
Kind Regards:j

Glad you got it in writing, I suggest you file it away for 6 years as it could come back to bite you. Not unknown for them to be sneaky 5 years down the line.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

it has been quoted that many of the smaller branches are using the parking tickets to keep them afloat

Attacking the retailer is now number 1 working method IMO to get a parking charge squashed.
POPLA is no longer fit for purpose and IMO should be removed from the advice, we are only making them money.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

for a singular site where the shop hires them , but in most cases those are retail parks where the land owner hires them
in this case (Athena) they moved to the IPC a short time ago ,, so a appeal would have just been a waste of ink , I do note (bmpa) that lidl/Athena have not "yet" ended up in court , I wonder if this is like PE and aldi ?Save a Rachael
