Fairfx PIN number warning

I forgot my PIN on my Fairfx card and set about requesting a new on. If you have the card you simply enter the 16 digit number, the 3 digit number on the reverse and your date of birth over the phone.
That's it , you are then given your forgotten PIN over the phone. How on earth is this secure?
I would have expected the pin to be posted to a secure registered address, and various checks to be done over the telephone, postcode, email address, mothers maiden name or some other secure question. So if I lose my wallet and there happens to be another document in my wallet with my DOB then a criminal can easily empty my bank.
As far as I know no other bank has lax security like Fairfx. I really have no option but to close the account

Erase the 3 digit CVV number on the back of the card (after making sure that you can remember it, and if needed write it down somewhere and keep this in your house).
This number isn't required when you use the card for face to face transactions, only when you use it at a distance such as over the phone.0 -
"Erase the 3 digit CVV number on the back of the card"
Yea I could do that.
It's just that I have never come across a financial institution (Fairfx) with such a cavalier attitude towards security before. It's like winding the clock back 20 years.
I still feel it's worthwhile posting a warning on the Praise,Vent & Warnings forum though.0
