Ford Fiesta freestyle 2001 failed mot

Hi my first post just really looking for some information I passed my driving test on Tuesday and had a car we picked up for cheap as it had been stuck in a field was only 100 quid it as expected failed it's mot as it was ridden with mud etc for God knows how long but what I'm wondering is how much this would cost to fix so that it passed as the garage didn't seem interested in fixing it this are the faults
Reason(s) for failure
nearside Headlamp aim beam image obviously incorrect (1.8.A.1b)
offside Registration plate lamp insecure (1.1.C.1c)
nearside rear Trailing arm rubber bush deteriorated resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)
nearside Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded sill (2.4.A.3)
offside inner Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded sill (2.4.A.3)
nearside inner Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded (2.4.A.3)
nearside rear Seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded (5.2.6)
front Power steering pipe(s) or hose(s) excessively corroded (2.3.2)
offside rear Macpherson strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)
nearside Rear wheel bearing rough when rotated (2.6.1)
Service brake: efficiency below requirements (3.7.B.7)
How much is this looking like ? And is it worth it for a first car ? Thank you for your time x

I welded a Fiesta a couple of months back with similar MOT failure, had to replace the whole Sill on one side and half the sill on the other.

Seat belt anchorage may be straight forward or may need 1/2 the interior trim removing to get at it.

I would probably be quoting around £250-300 just for the welding and my hourly rate is considerably lower than most guarages.

The other stuff is fairly cheap on parts but there are a lot of hours potentially there if paying garage rates.

don't forget to add around £1500 to tax and insure the £100 car.
  • Would you want to be sitting in a car that will turn in to a bag of crisps if it is in a bump.

There's hundreds of pounds worth of work on that list, for a car that even with a full ticket will be worth £400 max. Take it back to the field and bury it.

rather than bury it you could quadruple the cars value in one easy step.
    Fill the tank with petrol......
  • scrap it and put the 30 odd quid towards a new one.

Recycling 1980s Skoda jokes - i like your style. ;)

Your average scrappie wont give you a penny more for it - which is where this car needs to go
