Line spacing in word

6Vuh1z

I am trying to make a tag on word (think I have 97-2002) . The space between the it's a and girl is too big. I tried to find line spacing but it didn't work

Do you have a symbol like this?

That is the line spacing option on my version, but not sure what you have.

Alternatively, could you not use text boxes to move the words? I'm no where near a Word genius so not sure how easy it is.

In Word 2003 click Format in the menu bar then Paragraph which brings up the Indents and Spacing option.

It's so long since I used such an ancient version of Word (I'm surprised anyone still has it, are you hoping it will become an antique and appreciate in value?) that I don't remember how to set line spacing, but as an alternative could you insert a 2 row x 1 column table, adjust the row height to get the spacing you want, and set no borders on the table?

    I would either :

Select the area after 'a' and up to just before 'Girl' (3 lines) and change the font to something smaller.

Or put the text in a table and hide the cell borders and fiddle with it that way.

I know this is no help now you've already done it, but it's usually easier to create content like this using PowerPoint. Word is not really intended for graphics work and consequently it can become fiddly as you're discovering.

Agree with all the suggestions so far for closing up the line spacing.

I was also a bit confused by you saying you're trying to create a tag. What kind of tag do you mean - was this part of your question, or just incidental to it?
