Mortgage advisors

Options
Hi have anyone use this company w.onlinemortgageadvisor.co.uk

Is it standard for a Mortgage advisor to ask to see my credit files? I m worried about fraud as they will be able to see all my accounts? I m a first time buyer and difficult case as I m a discharged banckrupt (7 years since discharge) and I need a specialist broker who doesn't charge a fortune if anyone can recommend me someone I ll greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks

You're an ex-bankrupt and are concerned about a broker asking to see your credit files?

These days it's standard for anyone/everyone, never mind someone in your position.

Use a broker recommended by friends/relatives if nervous.

I ask to see credit reports for every client now.
That site is not a Mortgage broker as far as I am aware, they pass your details over to one of the brokers they work with.

  • I own a flat in building and was successful in getting an mortgage offer and the conveyncing team wrote to another co-director to verify that there are no major work in the near future due. But, a spat between the co-director and me led him to claim that the building is in a mess and estimated a massive estimated bill as act of spite designed to scare away the lender.

But I had the lender's surveyor inspected the property and passed it for lending. He also refuses to confirm the rest of the lender’s enquiries and my offer’s expiry date looming what should I do? If I take legal action it will not be resolved soon. Can you help? Can the broker speak to the lender and explain that the neighbour’s action is causing me stress. What would you advice?????

Kingstreet people go banckrupt for different reasons and not nice to reply like that but thank you for all your advice! I was more concerned with sending documents to a dodgy site that was the question if the site is genuine. And I thought someone can recommend a mortgage broker. :(
Answers like this kind of put me off asking anymore on here.
    Thanks anyway

You seem to have got the wrong end of the stick, but that's the internet for you. I re-read it three times before I posted it as I always do and couldn't see anything wrong with it.

If I'd been trying to be judgmental, the above isn't how I would have gone about it...

I was trying to highlight that brokers ask for credit files from practically everyone these days and for an ex-bankrupt or anyone with any adverse, it's absolutely essential to have all the necessary information. You just can't do the job without them.

Perhaps the word order was the wrong way round.

Anyway, I'll ensure I avoid your threads in future so as to remove any risk of misunderstanding.

Ah well. What can you do, eh...? Thirty years experience given freely at all hours of the day and night. Bound to get it wrong occasionally.

If you think a site is dodgy then don't use them.

A broker without your credit files is like seeing a doctor without their stethoscope/ Tools, they can try and advise but not the most comprehensive and tailored advice to you

We are not allowed to recommend specific brokers, it's the forum rules which we all have to abide by.

Try unbiased.co.uk as the standard reply.

As I replied to another of your posts elsewhere, I'm afraid you've posted in the wrong place; you need to start a new thread where people can see your problem and suggest solutions.

You might be better putting it in the House Buying, Renting & Selling sub-forum.

At the top right hand side there'll be a drop-down menu titled Forum Tools that'll let you start a new thread. Good luck!

    FWIW, I felt the same.

This is a common problem on these threads, but the mortgage advisors here are genuinely helpful and stick to the question/s asked while refraining from 'spicing up' their comments with unnecessary/irrelevant comments.

I think a few days away from posting on here will do me good.

I'm putting in 50 - 60 hours a week on paying work and it seems to be affecting my ability to express myself coherently on here.
