    Hi,

I'm not going to add anything as the others have done that.

But I thought this one of those great examples (that I remember well 7 years ago) where someone is about to start and IVA and comes in a bit of a mess and everyone piles in to help and advise in a really calm way and a way that inspires confidence as do the profile stats everyone has

A great thread to demonstrate the use of this forum
  • I'm so pleased to have found this thread. I'm in a similar position although I'm married and built debts up over the last 4 years from being on maternity leave, work to our house and just not earning the levels I've been used to over years (working in recruitment so not been getting as much commission). My husband doesn't have a clue and I've been dwelling on an IVA for about 18 months now. He wants to talk finances this weekend and there is no way I can avoid it, I need to come clean. I think that this is my only solution. I'm making my payments but my debt just isn't going down, my credit rating is through the floor and he has grand ideas of getting a new car next year. I'm so ashamed of the position I have gotten in and I have no idea what his reaction will be. I haven't been the most pleasant person to live with the last 2 years because of my constant worry over my position. So this will answer a lot of his questions about my short temper, but I don't think he will see this coming.

Finding this today though has encouraged me to write it all down and talk to him about what I'm proposing.

I suppose my one big worry is the kind of impact this will have on him financially and his opinion of me
