I am sure that those who would use the mistakenly returned voucher again would expect to be refunded if they had been overcharged instead. There have been almost as may times that I have been undercharged as overcharged and on each occasion I have pointed out the discrepancy.0

Given the circumstances, you should take full advantage of the retailer's incompetence, and spend it. Any supplier worth its salt would have a proper checking system in operation, and this one evidently doesn't and deserves to lose out.
