I am trying to connect two PC's together and have a
cat5 cable but am unsure as to what type it is.
It has the following written on it...
SUNF PU E132276-A (UL) CM 75oC 4PR 24AWG CSALL64151-A CMG FT4 VERIFIED (UL) CAT.5 ETL VERIFIED TO TIA/EIA 568-B.2 CAT.5 --- UTP
Can I use this to connect and share a b/band connection via NIC on two PC's?

After squinting it looks like I have a 568B straight through cable, I am presuming this won't work for me?"Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

You should be able to get hold of a crossover adapter. You plug one end of your cable into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the network socket of one of your PCs.0

Yeah, I use a router, but if it's only 2 computers and you have no issues with sharing the other computer then ICS is fine, though myself even when it was just 2 PCs I still used a router, I now have 3 PCs hard-wired, 1 wireless occasionally and my VoIP ATA connected to the router.
I just bought 59p Belkin patch cables from eBuyer when I was buying a few items. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
