CP Plus charge a car being towed out of Motorway Services

Have we seen this classic example of the BPA Code of Practice in action in the form of fine, upstanding AOS member CP Plus? Cost them £2.50 to buy this guy's data from the DVLA and - as ever, unquestioningly - the DVLA supplied it:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3836978/Driver-broke-M6-service-station-fined-100-overstaying-photo-car-towed-away-proof.html

Almost as good as the PCN (mentioned on pepipoo ages ago and not CP Plus) resulting from a person deliberately pushing a shopping trolley out of a retail park with their number-plate strapped to it, to test out the 'stringent checks' the PPCs undertake...not!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The DM have had enough articles now about this skimdustry to know it's not a fine.
  • We know its not a fine but the general public don't. Still more education needed.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

But if news articles start using the correct terminology then it'll help to get the message across, so stop people being so "frightened". :)

Surely, once the Car is put on the transporter it's no longer parked; so the period of parking is incorrect.

    Good point!

It really does show a classic example of how ANPR charges are UNFAIR and UNCHECKED.
