Lights
Darks
Reds
All done at 40c unless it's one of my organic cotton dip dyed items of clothing then it's just put on a cool rinse with a bit of washing powder0 -
Mine all goes in the same wash

Unless I've bought a new pair of jeans or other dark dyed item (very rare), then I'll separate the wash into light/dark colours.
ETA: only wear my clothes for one day before washing, towels max 2 days use, 100% Egyptian cotton, white bed sheets washed weekly, admittedly alone, as they fill the washer.....
*gets (unwashed) coat*...:p0 -
Lights and darks at 40.
Bedding, towels and tea towels at 60.
Not enough white clothes to need a separate white wash. I have white cotton bedding but no white towels. The bedding will be a machine load, all the towels are bright or dark and go in a separate wash.
Just me and youngest (adult) daughter, and she does far more washloads than I do.0 -
All goes into 1 basket for 2 adults, but have 2 spare bedrooms with towels that are regularly occupied.
Whites (40 deg wash), lights, brights, darks (all on 30), coloured towels (40), white towels, white & ivory bedding (60).2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

If I have a small colours and a small delicate (coloured) I often wash them all as delicate then give the non-delicate stuff an extra spin. I also sometimes combine a lights and whites. Otherwise -
sheets 60°C
towels / dishtowels / cleaning cloths 60°C
whites 40° + scoop of oxi type cleaner
colours 40°
delicates (mainly jumpers in winter) 30° / 40° with delicates detergent
occasionally seperate darks if there's a new pair of jeans, or if I've managed to gather enough clothes for two loads0 -
Whites @60 includes all towels/bed linen
Mediums @40
Darks @40
Anything that should be hand washed gets put into the machine with some fabric softener and put on a last rinse and spin cycle only.
Both of us are retired so nothing is dirty.
Because all towels and most bed linen is white as are most of the clothes I wear in summer and oh tees I do at least 2 loads of whites a week but normally only 1 each of mediums and darks. The stuff I should hand wash I do as and when. I iron everything and always have even when the family were little. All that clutter used to be money0
