Etoro-Do they ring you?

I signed up to etoro but haven't deposited yet. I got a call from an account manager asking when I could deposit and what things they could offer me. Seemed strange in funny about depositing over the phone anyway so I doubt I will be doing that. They seems a reputable company and I like the social aspect of their trading platform. Seemed odd.

I personally know nothing about etoro, having never heard of them before reading your subject heading.

There's a lot of previous info here on Etoro, and none of it looks good (to me). A recurring theme seems to be that they are very very helpful in assisting you when paying money in, but are strangely reluctant to help you get money back out.

Before you think of dealing with any company that is going to handle your money you should do the following things:

1. Search the https://register.fca.org.uk/

2. Take a look at
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/resources-and-tools/search-navigation-tools/Search/?q=financial+advice

3. Check with
http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//wcframe?name=accessCompanyInfo

4. Google the company to see what might turn up good or bad.
In your case try something like "etoro complaints" or "etoro forum", etc.

5. Use some common sense.

6. If after the above you still think of doing business with the company, then ask on forums about them.

From what I see on TV and read, many people that lose money in various ways only do some of these after not before.

I always ignore or say NO to anyone who phones or turns up without being asking. I strongly suggest that you do the same!
