Compact laminate worktops - any good?

Hi all

We're looking to replace our kitchen, but we can't afford anything like corian or granite for the worktops so we are looking at laminate.

Quite a few kitchen providers are now offering compact laminate. I quite like the look of it, and I hear is its hardwearing and entirely waterproof which means we could have a Belfast sink underneath it.

I've had a good look but I can't see any reviews of compact laminate anywhere so keen to hear from anyone with any experience of it?

We have just replaced our worktops as they were old and marked (here when we moved in last year!) and bought these from Wickes (maybe not quite what you are after but worth a look!)

- they look a lot more expensive than they are - we also added a grey composite sink and square neck tap from Screwfix - and it all looks wonderful.
