Try a different surface, if a surface becomes too shiny/clean/smooth, an optical mouse won't work.

on a logitech m570 i had the same problem as this, tried everything, new batteries etc, whenever i removed batteries it went ok for a while, ended up searching on google, solution was to move dongle to side of laptop that mouse was on, been perfect since,0
