What's the most cost effective way of staying warm whilst working from home?

Start by fixing the leaky windows with secondary glazing even if its temporary, no point in heating the whole road.
If the house is Victorian what about loft insulation as well, 270mm recommended. Do you have a chimney? block up the draft or light a fire on the days when you feel really cold as it heats the rest of the house too and retains heat in the brickwork for hours.
Next consider that electricity is expensive compared to gas, look at the different price you pay for them.
When you say you are working from one room, you are not really. Trips to the loo and kitchen during the day mean doors opening and heat lost from your room. Might be better to run the CH morning and late afternoon to keep the chill off and avoid damp / cold spots in the rest of the house.0
