Re: the spy party - I spoke to my son about it, he thinks it's a great idea BUT...He wants there to be two teams, so that they can compete against each other - would that be feasible do you think? Is it the kind of thing there could be a 'winner' with? (and a runner up of course...)
  • Hmm, tricky - maybe split them into 2 teams and the 'overall' winner of each game/finder of the next clue could get a point scored for his team - the team with the most points at the end of the party wins rather than giving out prices to the winner of each game. This would encourage them to work as a team to find the clues rather than having a free for all and bundling over the clues - where ultimately the older kids get them because they can barge the hardest and get the smaller kids out of the way (was talking about this a few days too!!).

As for prizes though - seems a bit mean to give a prize to half the party and send the others home with nothing. maybe a fun size chocolate bar for the losers and normal sized chocolate bars for the overal winners. Am I too soft??

Thats what I meant by a winner and a runner up - a winning team (with winning prizes) and a runner up team (with runner up prizes)..

I'm mean, but I'm not THAT mean ;)
  • LOL, just like me then!! Soft is the word I would use!! Let us know how it goes won't you.
  • The Pirate party advertised on the Kids Mystery Party site, is a treasure hunt where two teams compete against each other, maybe this is something to consider.

The Spy party has a Spy training school, maybe the boys could compete for the best marks from the Spy teacher (Special Agent Black) and win a prize for that.

    LOL
    ;)
