Regarding location, I'm in a fairly rural town outside of Glasgow and only likely to need to make the occasional trip to rescue the wife when trains get cancelled.

I think All-Seasons are the way to go, I was just worried they'd be too much of a compromise.

I sell my Winter tyres at 4mm as part-worns, so get some money back that way too, towards the next set.

How do you sell them? Just gumtree?
I've got a set of barely used winters in the garage from the last car (Annoyingly the same wheel size/width but a different profile)

Yes - wait for the first snow-fall of the winter then advertise them on GumTree.

    Good luck

I pored over all the reviews when I bought mine five years ago and I went for Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons. I bought online in the end (through https://www.mytyres.co.uk) and they were delivered and fitted locally. Price wasn't bad either.

I'd never thought of buying car tyres online before but it worked out pretty well.

Not sure they are at the moment. There's a rumour he's trying All-Season tyres in Austin. They'd probably get him off the grid faster, anyway.
