Hi Guys, got a 2850e ebac dehumidifier, used only a couple of winters, due to running costs.
Last winter, fan was sticking, so stripped it down, WD40, and ok.
After several times, fed up stripping it down, this season, I have replaced the fan, 3 weeks ago,£35and waited ,2 weeks to be delivered, only for the PCB board to go Kaput, last night:mad:.
£52 for a new one, same delivery time.
Seems it's a common fault.
Anyone know if I can bypass it,to run manually, it's a smart one.
repair or replace?:(.?
edit;;just ordered a new pcb.

We have have had a few Ebacs of the same model and the similar 2650.
While they are good pieces of kit they do seem to all fall over for the same reasons. I think we are now on our 6th or 7th replacement water holder as the float mechanism keeps breaking.
I only purchase directly from EBAC as they come with a 5 year warranty and then flog it on ebay after 4 years and pick up another one.
Its cheaper than replacing any parts outside of warranty.0 -

2 years warrantee now, some models 1 year.then pay £45 pa.
customer service crap.money, no techie advice.
2 weeks delivery from local.bishop aukland to leeds.
this pcb will probably blow, no sooner than fitted.
give me an on/off switch anytime.
trouble is, , I don't know if something secondary, including new fan, caused blow, but. I think resistors are chocolate.:mad:0 -
Agree customer service is poor.
I needed a replacement removable tank and they wanted me to send back the complete unit.
Its fairly obvious why they have dropped the warranty (or want £150 to extend it to 5 years)
Thats what I reckon I would pay on parts on years 3-5.
Will switch to a more reliable model when I change over.0
