Wardrobe - Argos or Ikea?

Daughter's room needs new furniture. She wants a Black gloss finish on her wardrobe. She has seen the one she likes on Argos website. Wardrobe, 5 draw chest and 3 draw chest is roughly £300. Had a look at Ikea website there is not much to choose regarding wardrobes. Do they have more choice instore?

Last time I bought a wardrobe was from mfi. A good quality one. Would like to see what I am buying. Do not want to buy from Argos and find that they are cheap quality that wobbles.

Can anyone recommend another place to look if the above 2 are unsuitable?

If it's not on the website, then it won't be instore in IKEA. I don't think they do store only items.
As far as quality goes though, I'd pick IKEA over Argos every time.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Pax wardrobes from IKEA are fantastic. You buy the carcass, you buy whatever fittings you want, then you buy the doors and handles. Basically you design your own wardrobes to suit your lifestyle

The only thing is they don't have black gloss doors

Another vote for Ikea pax unit. Good sturdy carcass and completely customisable. Whilst not cheap, they are still represent great value for what you get in return!

It's a no brainer for Ikea if the opposition is Argos. You can endlessly change the interior to suit yourself as it's all purchased as separate items.

I find Ikea to be similar good quality to MFI with this sort of thing.

My mum has an Argos wardrobe and drawers and they are complete rubbish in comparison. I used Argos for cheap and cheerful kids rooms when they were babies but after 3-4 years forget it.

By contrast I've recently bought an idea Malm drawer unit (yes bad press re tipping but it can be fixed in place just like any other tall unit) and the quality is bl00dy amazing for £39! Reinforced metal bracing under drawers, good runners, loads of deep storage, nice glossy finish.

I have inherited some Pax wardrobes left when i moved in here and they are very similar in style to my old MFI ones I had years ago eg similar hinge fittings and metal basket drawers. Roomy too.

You cannot beat ikea for value AND quality.

The metal bracing must be a newish addition as my 3 year old ones don't have it.

I was so impressed it has it! I've never seen it before on any furniture I've bought regardless of price. Yes it's pretty new, bought only a few months ago.

Looks like I'll be replacing my Malm drawers on my next visit to Ikea!
