Not sure, I have an S6 so no SD card.
Personally, I would have kept the SD card as 'Portable' and just changed the location of photo saves in the camera app settings. However, I don't tend to fill up my phone with apps so have plenty of space anyway.
As you are using Google Photos you can just view them via the Google photos app and not store any on your phone if you want to save space.

Did that few days ago, only about 3 apps were installed on sd card. Rest stayed on internal storage without 'change' option.

Maybe there is an app which allows this to happen...

If you follow the instructions your SD card should now be part of internal storage.

Yes that is true

But my experience is that that many apps will not work on a SD Card, has to be Internal storage

I used an App to Sd card manager to identify the movable ones!
