Flybmi.com ....advice sought

Hi everyone.
Very briefly....
We were to fly from Belfast to Birmingham on 19th Sept for the Dairy event in Stoneleigh. Sadly the event is cancelled due to the Foot and Mouth outbreak. I understand why because over 12000 farmers were to visit the Show and it would have been too much of a risk. I am very disappointed.
However I rang Flybmi. and asked for a refund (£167) or even a part refund after explaining the situation...it was all beyond my control. Apparently they offer NO refund and were not undestanding at all......nor did they seem to care.
I had not travel insurance.
The lady did suggest I could maybe use the money towards another flight. That seemed reasonable so thought perhaps to attend another event on 3rd Oct. She explained that would be no problem.......that can be done FREE....but there is an ADMIN charge. How much? £25 per seat per flight per person....meaning I would have to give them an ADDITIONAL £100!!
What would you advise.
I have never flown with this airline before and to be honest I dont ever want to fly with them.
I feel it is most unfair.
Kind regards
Clare

Sorry but it isn't unfair - If you want non-refundable tickets to be refundable then you buy refundable tickets instead.0

Hi Alan.
I never knew there was a choice for REFUNDABLE tickets.
I never saw that option.Every penny is a prisoner.......0 -
Refundable tickets cost an arm and a leg. Do you have travel insurance as you might be able to claim. Otherwise I'd either bite the bullet and accept the BMI fees or lose the money as there's no chance of you getting BMI - or any other airline for that matter - to treat you any better0
