Tube Starter Switch

Hi


I have a knackered tube light in the garage. After weeks of thinking it was the tube (and replacing that) someone told me that the starter switch may have gone - the what I said?...


Anyway I found the switch and it states 4-80W / 220V-240V - looks like its been in there for years. I was looking for a replacement at B&Q and only found 4-65W. Do I need a 4-80W or will any do?.....yes I am clueless !!!

4-65W will do a 5' fitting. 6' fittings require a 4-80W.

The starter needs to match the tube.

Yes it is.

If in doubt, the wattage of the tube is normally printed on the tube itself, near one end.
