Jacqueline du Pré started learning the cello at the age of six and by the time she was twelve years old was playing professionally for the BBC. Tall, blonde and ebullient, du Pre would wrap herself around her cello and play with an intimacy and intensity that transported her audiences. She was a musical lioness, ferocious and playful, uninhibited and passionate. This unique DVD contains material never before seen in public and presents du Pré as seen through the eyes, ears and words of the people who were closest to her and knew her best. The DVD also has a 15 minute interview with Jacqueline du Pré, together with the revealing film, Remembering Jacqueline du Pré, and complements Christopher Nupen’s earlier In portrait DVD and presents other sides of the Jacqueline du Pré story. You can win a copy of this outstanding DVD by answering the following question: With whom did Jacqueline du Pré study in Zermatt, Switzerland in 1960? I think the Take Care of my Cat one might be wrong...
'with Yujin's Secret Codes, she won the Grand Prize at the Women's Film Festival in Seoul in 1999' but I think that's what they're after 'Grand Prize'.

TAKE CARE OF MY CAT
GOYANGILEUL BUTAGHAE
Who, where and what: five friends, all in their early twenties, in a grim area of the harbor city Incheon. The group’s core consists of Hae-ju, Ji-yeong and Tae-hee – the vain, the artistic and the rebel, respectively. School is finished, but none of them feel quite ready yet for the life as grown women. The days go by, filled with dreams of a life abroad, far away from the grey pit that is Incheon. Unlike the others Hae-ju has a good job. She works for a stockbroker and also has a relationship with an older colleague. When she realises her dream one day and moves to Seoul, her friends are left behind, stunned. But Hae-ju’s departure has a positive side effect – it marks the start of a strengthened friendship between Tae-hee and Ji-yeong.
Take Care of My Cat is an engaging film about the period between adolescence and adulthood, which, in the same way as Shunji Iwai’s All About Lily Chou-Chou, is enhanced with a beautiful soundtrack and a clever usage of text messages. Like Iwai, Jeong speaks the language of youth, giving the film an authentic feel. This is what it is like to be young in today’s South Korea. Incidentally, when Take Care of My Cat was released in 2001 it was the first Korean film in nearly three years to have been directed by a woman.
Director
Jeong Jae-eun was born in Seoul in 1969 and studied film at the Korean National University of Arts. She made several short films before her first feature film Take Care of My Cat, including Yujin’s Secret Codes, which won the Grand Prix at the Women’s Film Festival in Seoul in 1999.:beer:Any war that lasts for longer than five years should be declared a draw.:beer:0
