Looking for a new cooker

Hi Everyone

At the moment I have an electric cooker in the kitchen(50cm cooker in a 61cm gap). I would like to replace it with a gas cooker{not dual fuel) and here are some question i hope someone can help me here.

1.The present electric cooker is connected to the wall by an enclosed plug-like connection. Would i need an electrician to disconnect it before it gets removed? Or would a Corgi gas engineer do it when he/she installs the new cooker?

2.Do modern gas cookers have a safety feature which cuts out the gas flow to that particular ring if the flame gets put out by accident? eg overspill from a boiling pot.

3.Do I need to leave gaps between the cooker and the sides of the space for ventilation? Or can I put in a 60cm-wide cooker?

4.Finally, my budget is about £700 including installation.

Hope you guys can give my some recommondation.

PS Is Cannon a good make?I have heard a lot about it,and it seems to be within my price range. But if there are cheaper alternatives with similar features please let me know too.

Thanks very much for reading my post.
