Removing bloodstains from white clothing

Trying to remove dried bloodstains from clothing following an accident. Soaked stuff overnight in a Vanish liquid and on rinsing items looked clean again. However now it's dry the white nylon still looks badly brown stained.
Any suggestions on what I can try now?

I would use a cold water soak followed by vanish bar and then a wash in biological powder/liquid and try line drying in the sun. Or you could try Dr Beckman 'glo white' (used to be ACDO) - the restoring one, which was on offer in Wilko last week. But nylon is harder to get stains out of than natural fabric, IMO.

Cold water and a vanish stick, give it a good scrubbing and keep rinsing, then repeat. What ever you do, don't get it near hot water or a tumble drier - that will set the stain in and it will never come out

Hang out in the sunshine too - sunlight has a bleaching effect on 'natural' stains I have found - hope the errm... donor is okay x

If it is still stained you could try soaking in cold water and borax (a really old-fashioned remedy for stains) that is great for getting blood and grease stains out of pillow cases and restoring them to white - a proper hardware shop will sell it

Long before the days of stain removers and biological liquids and powders, bloodstained clothes were always soaked (as soon as possible) in a large container of cold water with a handful of salt added.

If you ever get a very small amount of blood on your clothing I understand that saliva will break it down - so suck it and see.

I am sensitive to bio washing powders so never use them - except for soaking out blood stains. I then wash normally.
Nylon / artificial fibres are dreadful for 'holding' stains but I would keep soaking in bio. I know others reckon lemon juice but I've never found it effective. Sunshine works better, I think, on natural fabrics.

Soak in either Napisan or a 50/50 mix of washing up liquid/white vinegar mix

Thanks for your suggestions. Two 24 hour soakings in cold water with a generous spoonful of dissolved Pink Vanish on each occasion did the trick. I obviously didn't leave them soaking long enough first time round and was too impatient!
