Can you change insurers midway through the term?

Hi Forum,

My Car insurance is up in November, I ususally buy it on a pay monthly scheme. I want a new car however but i am only able to afford this exactly when my insurance is up on my car now! I dont want to rush and buy anything just to keep in line with my insurance however, if i carry on the agreement i have now, they arnt the cheapest on the other car i am looking to buy and therefore i will get ripped off, also they wont allow modifications but i want some nice origional VW alloys to go on it and this is classed as a mod even though you can add these alloys as standard on a brand new car.

I have paid out alot of money to get my 2 years no claims and i dont want to start my third year and then loose it as i have to change insurers midway through. Can you do this on credit agrrements?

Is there any way i can keep the months say 2 or 3 that i have used in my 3rd year of driving and then someone insure me for 9 months say but still get another year no claims if all went well.

The insurer who has given me a good quote on the new car, has given me a not so good on my car now so thats not an option now!

I know this is a confusing post, any help is appreciated please.

Thanks all

    Have a look at https://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk

They do a "pay as you go" policy.
This is different to having an annual contract that you pay monthly for.
You get 1 years no claims after 8 months.

I haven't used this company but I do have my bike insurance with https://www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk and so do a lot of my mates.
One has had a bike claim with them and everything seems to be OK.

On my policy they include breakdown and free legal cover for ALL your vehicles but please check this as my policy is almost 1 year old so they might have changed their offering.
Still they seem to offer some different offerings to standard insurance companies.
