Hi everyone i just wanted to let everyone know that PPPay ARE a scam. I sent them ( through my bank ) £6000 for a caravan this was paid into an escrow account. The caravan was to be delivered last sunday we are still waiting. We have heardnothing from either the seller or pppay. We have been in touch with the fraud sq. in the police. We realy don't expect miricals but we live in hope as that was our life savings.

Its been ages since I read up on ppay ( they're not a scam, but not enough people use it so I stopped too). If i recall correctly the escrow money isnt released to the seller until you confirm receipt of the goods. So if the seller didnt deliver the caravan - then its looks like pppay have given you a lucky escape! What was the sellers feedback like? what checks did you do on the seller before deciding to send them £6000. Ha the seller registered for pppay properly?- ebid wont release the money to them until they are verified. Have you told ebid that the goods have not been delivered yet?
There is no such word as "bidded". I bid, you bid, they bid, Ebid ;)
  • I was an online retailer (company recently closed to give more time to focus on another venture) and I had never had a problem with any of my sales or getting money from a payment provider.

I went with PPPay as a payment provider as they seemed to be the cheapest around and and offered a very similar and in some ways better service than PayPal. I have regretted that decision from the day I signed up! getting their site to integrate with mine was horrendous and since then the customer service has been appalling. in fact, I have printed out a couple of emails that they have sent me as an example to my staff of how NOT to talk to customers. They don't like paying money out that they have taken on your behalf and G-d help you if you ever need to process a refund, thats just never going to happen! I have since done a little research and am unable to find their business registration details or anything telling me that the FSA are even aware of their existence! I have asked them for this information and my emails seem to be ignored.

This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to talk about a company in this way but I feel people should be aware of what they are actually like before signing up to their services.

    AVOID PPPAY AT ALL COSTS!

If you go to [www .fsa .gov .uk/register/eMoneyLanding.do] there is a paragraph saying
You can search for electronic money institutions (EMIs) that are, or have been, authorised by the FCA or registered under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (EMRs) to issue e-money.
Click on the link there and search for pppay, it is listed there:

    Basic Details For: PPPay Limited
Current Electronic Money Status: Small Electronic Money Institution
    Firm Address: 82 High Road, , , , Byfleet, Surrey, KT14 7QW, United Kingdom
    Other Information: 900041
  • Hi.
I need a new payment service for use on my ebay account as I have been banned by paypal. I was with them for 13 years without any problems at all with over 1400 positive feedbacks and no negatives or neutrals but 1 bad deal and now I am banned.
Anyway I was going to use pppal as my new service but after reading your reviews it does not look like a very good idea. Does anybody know of any other good payment method specifically for ebay. I know there is the option to post cash or cheques but buyers want quick and easy transactions.
    Any suggestions!!!
    Regards
