A couple of things.. You say in your post that both you and the customer have lost money? That doesn't make sense as your customer will have the goods so has lost nothing? If they don't have the goods then you shouldn't have the money? What i suspect has happened here is either you have offered pppay escrow as a payment option, which means pppay won't release the money until your customer has confirmed they have received the goods; or your customer has not verified their pppay account meaning the customer still has the money, maybe they've decided it's a bit unwise to buy a £1000 item from a new seller and have taken this as an opportunity to back out of the sale.

no its loking like they are a rip off as they have def shut my account not replying to emails and taken my money to money that was left in there well after customers payed and got there goods im thinking they have change there polacies and are steeling money from anyone that they dont think is fully legit becouse my company sells things that are legal but my not be moral for tehm any more ether way they have stole my legit money as im locked out of my account and also they are not sending payments back to customers who where int he middle of there purchases and also they told one customer that if he tries to do a charge back that they will levy a fee of £20 witch is the same amount he has payed and wants back now that they have locked our account so they are a Scam dont bother using pppay.com any more they have gone the same way paypal has Scammers both of them paypal and pppay.com

Sorry something still isn't adding up here, first you said your customer "payed and got there goods" then you're saying your customer wants to do a charge back. Is that because they are not satisfied with the goods? I've used pppay for 5 years now. they have admin faults (slow to respond to emails, and not the best value unless you are payimg using funds within your pppay account) but they are not dishonest. We would really need to know the full story from your customer to take a view on what's happened here.

PS. have you got two MSE accounts?
There is no such word as "bidded". I bid, you bid, they bid, Ebid ;)

no sorry im not the same person you where replying to im another person that had similar and you kind of mixed some up of both of what we said but to clear things up they are rip off my customer payed for a product they change there mind when confronted with the penny check thing as it was taking to long and pppay.com take even longer to reply as well so anyway the customer found theres no cancel button to get your money back witch is debited from your bank before the penny check so they chose to do the penny check wrong knowing in pppay.com policy they would have to reimburse the funding bank but after two weeks of nothing and no answers on emails they finally got a email saying its sorted out and the fund are back a further two weeks and the funds are still not back in the customers account now they have locked the customer out of the account and stopped answering his emails or are taking ages to answer them on my end they have now decide to shut my account so i cant sell anything any more as well they have given no proper explanation and also have not return the balance of my account with them and they also have not even mentioned in the one and only email that took a week anything about my money in there accounts so id say stay away from them there going bad im getting a proper card gateway and merchant account from now on

I agree the penny check system is poor, that's why i don't take pppay from non verified buyers. however it does tell users quote clearly on pppay that if they don't verify the account, their money will be returned - after 30 days I recall ( don't have time to look up just now) so the buyer who changed their mind will get their money back and hasn't been scammed in any way.

As the seller you have lost nothing except a sale as it's the buyer who's pulled out, so you haven't been scammed either.

  • Another victim of their criminal activities here. I have complained to them that although the goods have been delivered their system is still showing undelivered and in return they have cut me from my account and stopped replying to my emails. Mo money is in their pockets by now.

I am writing documents to few UK consumer rights institutions and if anyone would like to join get in touch as they are stealing money and no one seems to have taken any strong legal actions against them and until that's done they are untouchable.
  • PPPay look at the bottom of their site your see the following

("PPPay Ltd is certified as a Small Electronic Money Issue by the Financial Services Authority") so yes they are safe

    I hope helps you :j
  • These are not to be trusted! They say one thing and do the other, apparently there is a limit, but you can go over this look what happened to me:

I bought a camera off ebid but the guy changed his mind after i paid, he rejected the money of pppay.com and i had to pay the transaction fee of £21! Then they would not let me withdraw the money as i was in a limited account! (according to the site it should have stopped me for spending that much) So i cant withdraw my money, plus i have to pay a withdrawal fee of £14 over 14 days!)

Don't go anywhere near ebid or PPPay.com. The customer service is rubbish and they don't give a dam. Currently awaiting another response that's not copied and pasted before i report them to FSA.

Wondered if anyone had used PPPay.com? If so, how was the experience and is it a scam? I cannot find anything on a google search but it seems to be closely linked with ebid.net and I do not know them either!
    Many thanks.

No. PPPPay is not a scam but an alternative to Paypal. eBid is also an alternative to eBay and is good for sellers because their fees are a lot less. The downside is that it can be slower as less people know about eBid. Don't be afraid of using PPPPay and eBid. It is nice that there is a competitor to eBay which basically have made their terms and conditions extremely difficult for sellers. Hence many have moved to eBid. Incidentally, eBid can also be good for buyers as sellers can sell for less on eBid as their profits are not eaten up in charges
  • Hi guys
My thoughts about pppay.com, it seems to me that there accociation with Ebid is a little too chummy! The only part for me that would be even close to safe would be the "escrow" service it seems it's the only safe option they have.
I've used them once through a fraudulent "scammer" on Ebid, both pppay and Ebid will do nothing. They are not interested in helping anybody with any part of a dispute, like many of us I too was looking for a true alternative to EBay, and PayPal, but PayPal have never let me down, they regularly infuriate me but they offer significant and realistic protection.
Unlike "pppay.com" that offer nothing much at all, summing up I would defanately NOT recommend "pppay.com" to anyone.
