Winter tyre direction mounting

Hi, got a newb winter tyre question. I am mounting these shortly and there are no arrows on the side nor anything to state they are bi-directional. Assuming from the assymetrical tread pattern they are unidirectional and need to be mounted this way facing forward as in the below picture

Quite probably an obvious question but would like to make sure I'm mounting them correct way. Many thanks

It does look like they should be facing in a particular direction, but it's then odd that there are no arrows on the sidewalls. What tyres are they?0 -
Hi Agrinnall,
They are Hankook Icept evo2, I had a good google session but couldn't find specific info about direction, just the general "if it looks like an arrowwhead pattern then point the the pattern towards the direction of travel". So based on that I've got an idea of which way they should go but don't want to commit a schoolboy error and send them the wrong way.0 -
From the feature description and images on the Hankook website, it looks to me like the block shoulder is intended to be on the outer edge of the tyre, with the inclined groove pattern towards the inside of the car. It does say that the inclined grooves are intended to assist lateral grip on snow, so I doubt they're designed for water clearance in any particular direction.

looks like an Asymmetrical tyre to me so look on the sidewall for the word outside and that the way the tyre should be mounted0

Image here shows 'outside' clearly marked:

If all 4 are exactly the same then they're not unidirectional even though there will be in an inside/outside tread pattern.bobshipman wrote: »Hi, got a newb winter tyre question.
