Thanks very much all for your brill suggestions, loads of ideas here! Definitely want to try fish cakes, and will have a go at some of the other suggestions over the next week or so
Forgot to say that I put some chopped chilli in the parcels but dried flakes would be fine.
You can use tinned salmon or tuna for fishcakes, a good storecupboard standby. Just mix in some spring onion, chilli, a few herbs and something wet like a couple of tbsps of mayo or horseradish sauce to give them a kick.
Iceland have some good bags of frozen fish on 3 for £10. I prefer plain fish to batter or breadcrumbs much healthier.0 -
A good way of poaching fish is how I do my cod: Boil some water and pop the fish into the water. Take the pan off the heat and leave to stand with lid for 7-10min depending on the size of the pieces of fish. Saves on energy as well0

Fav fish dinner here is sheet chilli salmon pasta
It's a five min dish and so filling and scrummy
Bit of cooked Salmon. Now I personally like from tescos the hot smoked in chilli sauce. However it doesn't need to be this. Two fingers of salmon, poached or nuked will be grand
Saut! onions, peppers, toms, whatever you have, in a pan till al dente Throw in a couple of dairylea triangles and a dollop of sweet chilli sauce.
Stir in cook pasta ,, add some pasta water to slack it. Flake over the cooked salmon
Delish, cheap, filling and extremely good for you
Just remember not to use the skin in this dish0
