Reclaiming Lloyds Gold Packaged Account Charges

Hi,
First post so be kind to me.... :-)
I have read about reclaiming my packaged bank account charges on the website and i'm unsure if i have a case. I have had the Lloyds Gold account for around 9-10 years and took it out initially because i was told that i could only get an overdraft with Lloyds if i took out the Gold Account due to my credit rating at the time. I would have thought that was grounds to claim, the only thing that i am concerned about is that i have used the mobile phone insurance twice and the AA road cover a few times also. Would this mean that i will struggle to claim any money? Anyone had any similar scenarios?
Thanks in advance

While use of the features and benefits of the account does not preclude you from complaining, it reduces significantly the reasons you can use for complaint. You can hardly say you didn't need or want it, for example.
In addition, monies already claimed via the insurances will be deducted from any redress awarded if your complaint is successful.0 -

So, you have made use of the product. This does not prevent you from complaining. However, the use of multiple bits of the product on multiple occasions means your complaint is compromised. The complaint is weak to begin with. it is an unprovable verbal allegation. However, if they decide to uphold your complaint, they can take the market cost of the benefits you have used and deduct that from the redress. In your case, that is likely to exceed the refund.
It seems that having a packaged account is a good thing in your case. So, why would you want to complain about it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah thats fair enough. I still feel irked at the fact that they made me take the gold account to get an overdraft. I felt like it was a con to get me to sign up for the gold acc at the time. Thats the reason i thought id ask after seeing that it was one of the reasons people were complaining. But i cant deny that i've used some of the services.
Thanks for your advice anyway folks. Have a good day :-)0 -

It is actually possible that they DID require you to take out that account for the overdraft - if your credit history was poor then a paid for account gives the bank some income as "insurance" in case you default - if it was bank policy at the time, it would not be miss-soldSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
