Vinyl wrap in shower

I am looking to do something with the stainless steel splash backs currently fitted in my shower unit.

I was originally looking at replacing the splash backs with panels.

But I have been thinking of possibly using vinyl wrap to cover the stainless just to give the bathroom a fresher look when decorating.

Would the vinyl stick to stainless?

I know that vinyl wraps are used on cars and would assume that If they can stand up to driving in heavy rain etc then would using the wrap in a shower be any different?

And does anyone know any suppliers of good quality vinyl wrap?

I used to deal with vinyl wrap in a previous career. We once wrapped our kitchen doors when we had no money for a new kitchen (American Airlines silver) with great success. And one of our cars is partially wrapped now.

But I'd be nervous about it! Vinyl is removed by heat and we don't subject our cars to constant hot washes, nor is rain hot.

There's sitting water around the seals at the bottom and the cleaning products being used in and around the shower. It won't scrub well and we know how limescale water marks sit on showers like they don't on our cars.

I don't expect the outside of my car to be the most hygenic of things in my life, where I place my shower quite highly on that list.

Somewhere that is infrequently washed yes, but I wouldn't subject it to a constant, hot deluge of dirty water. Yuck.
