Consumer rights for returning radiators that don't work

Options
Hi

Just bought a order of nine radiators. One was broken on delivery. They had to be fitted that day due constraints of fitter. So we had to buy alternative brand and sent the others back. Just been charged a whopping 50% return fee for the others. Can they do this? The order was unfit for fitting due time pressure of fitting. Do I have any consumer rights.

Please help.

I am guessing if you had returned just the faulty one there would not have been a fee , what do the companys T +C state.
Maybe had you ordered a few days earlier the faulty one could have been exchanged in time for the fitter.

Could the fitter not have completed all the pipework brackets etc. for the duff radiator but left it unattached, returning to fit it later (a 30 min job) when the replacement arrived. Would have thought that would have been the simplest solution.

Only one item was damaged. You should have returned that one only. The supplier could not charge a re-stocking fee on faulty or damaged goods.
Your fitter excuse is just that, an excuse. You didn't have to buy elsewhere.

Did you order these radiators online?
    When did you order them?
    When were they delivered?
When did you report the damage?
Were you acting as a consumer when you made this purchase?
    How did you pay?

The fitter would know to just turn off the valves until the faulty one is replaced so there was no need to send them all back. 5 minutes is all the change over would take and 4 of those minutes would be getting it out the packaging.
