Mirror in Handbag!?

I've searched the BAA site and on here but can't find the answer.
When I fly I always take my make-up mirror so that I can while away time doing my make-up before landing. Cabin crew have never said anything but I'm now wondering if mirrors are actually allowed, I'd hate to have mine confiscated as it's a good one. Does anyone know?

I can't think of a single reason why a mirror isn't allowed0

theoretically someone could smash the mirror & use a shard as a weapon
but the answer is no - it's allowed & will not be confiscatednothing to see here, move along...0 -

I thought that it wouldn't be allowed because shards of glass would be much more dangerous than my tweezers which are banned.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
A mirror is fine - but how much make-up are you taking? + the likes of lip gloss are not and only 100ml of liquid, so if you take perfume you might not be able to take foundation.I thought that it wouldn't be allowed because shards of glass would be much more dangerous than my tweezers which are banned.....YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY

I thought that as long as each container was 100ml or less it was allowed, I've got through with my make-up bag and toiletries many times before, I put all of the "liquids" in the clear sealed bag. Maybe I've just been lucky?:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

A mirror is the single most useful piece of equipment that you could have in your handbag for rescue (I've been on a course where we did this as an exercise i.e. pick the things you want to take for a rescue).0 -
If you are really worried about loosing this particular mirror, I would suggest one of two options.
1. Get another cheap one.
2. Get a padded envelope, put the mirror inside it, take it to the PO and get it weighed and stamped, address it to yourself. If they decide its not allowed to travel with you, pop it in the nearest post box!7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

The restrictions are no liquids in containers greater than 100ml, and a total limit of whatever fits in a 20cmx20cm ziplock bag. Also the liquids must be in their original containers.0
