This is getting silly. Its like lemmings jumping off a cliff. If the media would stop mentioning NR all the time then maybe it would all calm down.
I am off on holiday tomorrow and fully expect my money to still be in A&L when I come back. Probably wont be able to say the same for my unit trust though

Yes but are they doing it because they know something we dont?
Will A+L still cut a profit in todays climate?0 -
I'm amazed that anyone would think that hedge funds "know something we don't." To remind, hedge funds are the operations that a) don't make money and b) have to be bailed out by their parent banks/large investors all the time because of their reckless gambles on failed punts such as high yield securitised mortgages.
What's more, they have form going back a long way, remember Long Term Capital Management? That was a hedge fund which caused a crisis in 1998.More like Short Term Capital Mismanagement, as their investors found.
Not much appears to have changed.Trying to keep it simple...

So do you believe that this is a attack so that perhaps citi group or another organisation can get in on the uk market at a discount price. Buying up the infrastructure that A+L hold on the back of fears about another organisation?
If so... itll probably work for them, id guess at 80% chance there will be panic selling with A+L shares tomoz. But im not a gambling man and these times are a gamble so im out.0 -

I have shares in A&L, B & B, N Rock all as a result of carpetbagging.
Should have sold NR when they were £12 but I didn't know they would get as low as today's price in such a short time. Now where did I put my crystal
ball
