Home Insurance with Content outside the home

Greetings,
So far, I only took just basic insurance - well by basic, I mean the basic package - sufficient content cover, but nothing like accidental damage, legal, personal possession outside the home.
I had a very close accident earlier this year - lost my mobile phone but it was retrieve. But lost my sunglasses now... so as I am getting slightly "forgetfull" maybe time to spend more in home insurance to cover possession outside the home.
When doing quotes, these does add up a fair bit for some insurer and quite reasonable for other insurers.
However, if the excess is still gonna be about £350, this really does not make sense for a phone - or a pair of sunglasses (to my own sight)
Any thought or tips or where I should explore further.
Thanks.
Jeremy

Some policies exclude phones, and others may exclude "lost" items.

Further to the post above, most policies exclude losing something in your home. You can't truly lose something in the home, it'll turn up eventually.
Some, and you'll need to check individual wordings; cover accidental loss outside the home.
Either drop your excess from £350, you'll most likely not see more than a 10% increase in premium, or as suggested buy items you can afford to lose!0
