Differing Credit Score

All

I am a little confused about credit score, and as I am about to go for a mortgage I need to clarify. I did my credit check with Equifax and it was good, although I had a default on a mobile phone bill, that I had cancelled for 15.00 but my score was still good. However with Experian I am rated poor due to changing accounts (to obtain the better rates and welcome bonus's recommended on this site). Never has it been mentioned that this would affect my scoring. Also I kept my salary bank account steady.

Experian is only free if it's the first time you have used it, when I signed up for my free trial they charged me.

How can I adjust this- any ideas.

Ignore your credit score, you don't have one. Read the sticky.
"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."
  • Try noddle (also free) and see what it says on there.
However, each bank has different criteria so tbh its pretty useless.

You cant adjust something that no 1 else sees, well you can but its daft on focusing on the score, the history is what matters.

See what Noddle says but its the smaller of the 3 agencies so maybe not all lenders etc will report to them, they aren't obliged to report to all 3, some will just report to 1 agency hence why you could get scored differently.

I am not sure I understand because all the mortgage brokers are asking about my credit score so it does matter. Even this site uses Experian and tells you to manage your credit score so it doesn't make sense. T

Your credit score is irrelevant. Your credit history is what matters, no matter what any under qualified mortgage broker may tell you.

A number tells a lender nothing.
