This year I am aiming to make at least one gift for everybody in our family and also make handmade nibbles and decorations.

Personally if anyone gave me a handmade gift that I hadn't asked for I would happily bin it - it takes a lot of talent to pull off a decent home made gift, and I've had some monstrosities over the years (I'd much prefer a box of toffifee from poundland). Perhaps instead of handmade (which can cost a fortune), go for a £5 limit or a secret santa style so you won't have to spend so much.0 -

now is a good time to make some food gifts with what is in season:
apple chutney
blackberry jelly
apple and sage jelly
sloe/ damson gin (put that together now it will be ready to filter and bottle at Christmas)
if you are going to make a Christmas fruit cake you should be making it now
and to make anytime
limoncello
chilli jam
flavoured oils- rosemary, garlic, chilli
at the last minute
chocolate truffles
fudge

this year I am making tiffany glass christmas tree decorations, it is not so difficult you can learn off the web
previously I have used old chandelier crystals wired together to make Christmas tree decorations
if you are desperate you can gold spray a pine cone!0
