Handmade Christmas

This year I am aiming to make at least one gift for everybody in our family and also make handmade nibbles and decorations.
Anybody got any ideas?

Check out the OS christmas thread on the old style board.

Personally if anyone gave me a handmade gift that I hadn't asked for I would happily bin it - it takes a lot of talent to pull off a decent home made gift, and I've had some monstrosities over the years (I'd much prefer a box of toffifee from poundland). Perhaps instead of handmade (which can cost a fortune), go for a £5 limit or a secret santa style so you won't have to spend so much.

There is quite a lengthy thread about home made gifts a bit further down on this board - here you go:

now is a good time to make some food gifts with what is in season:
    apple chutney
    blackberry jelly
    apple and sage jelly
sloe/ damson gin (put that together now it will be ready to filter and bottle at Christmas)
if you are going to make a Christmas fruit cake you should be making it now

    and to make anytime
    limoncello
    chilli jam
    flavoured oils- rosemary, garlic, chilli

    at the last minute
    chocolate truffles
    fudge
    Florentines
    cinder toffee
