POPLA codes expiring after 28 days.

My situation is this:
I was torn between decided to appeal or not at all.
The advice of many, in particular on the Pepipoo forum is to definately appeal.
However there is a new spanner in the works.
I am shortly due to be out of the country for the next 8 or 9 weeks until around the New year.
Therefore any POPLA code I receive from the PPC will have expired by the time I am back at home and able to act on it.
Does anyone know whether there is any chance POPLA will accept an expired code on the grounds I am abroad? Or is this another reason for perhaps not appealing the whole process at all.

If it helps the PPC in question is KPS Ltd and hasnt taken anyone to court as yet.

POPLA is done by email so people in your shoes have done it anyway, when abroad, as long as someone at home opens the post in case the POPLA number arrives that way.

  • Ok thanks for this.
Someone can open it, yes, and I will have internet access.
But I'd rather they didnt. Dont really want family getting involved if at all possible :(

Guess I wont have much choice :/

By 'KPS Ltd' do you mean Kernow?

IIRC when people appeal, Kernow are very quick to reject so you could have a POPLA code by next week. Is that soon enough to get it done before you go? Even if you drop the ball on this one it would not be a big deal, IMHO.
