Bathroom Flood

Hi All
Looking for some help. The flat above us had some work done in the bathroom that leaked into our bathroom.
The leak is now fixed but there was water pouring in rather than just dripping.
I think the roof will need plastering but my question is, although it's all dried out now, how do I now if the plaster behind the tiles has been damaged ?
Thanks for any help
Rob
