EPSON RX620 Black issues.

Got hold of an RX620, in my opinion one of the best printers they have made. I have one already and have had no issues with refillable cartridges that automatically reset when the printer thinks they are low.

It seems that the user of this printer had some issues with the black and used the nozzle alignment facility which made matters MUCH worse.

I started by printing a nozzle check and all colours were very very patchy.

I flushed the nozzles out with just warm water through some silicone tube and a small syringe and afterwards inserted my own refillable cartridges.

Nozzle check shows all the colours print a full nozzle pattern except the dark blue which has a few marks missing. Could do with another flush on that or some heavy photo printing.

But the black is barely there, a couple of lines if i B&W copy an A4 picture. I had a quick look at the nozzle alignment tool and there appears to be no way to reset the alignment. When you move it and change it the new setting appears to be the middle now, is that right?

Pretty sure they just messed up the alignment, but unsure howto get it back. Do i need to just keep trying?

Move the nozzle check 2 or 3 down at a time and if that fails move it up 2 or 3 instead? How far in each direction and how many steps in each try? I think its + or - 7?
