moving your mortgage, whilst in an IVA

Hi.
Just a quickish question; if you're in an IVA, but your mortgage is not in arrears, can you change mortgage lender?
Also, there is no fixed rate etc...still running.

I would stay put until you complete the IVA - maybe fix the term until the end if you want to save as much as possible but you wont see the savings.

It's not so much about the savings, it's more to do with the relationship and the stressful problems over the years with the lending company. If you're not happy with the service, is it safe to move?

It's not so much about whether it's safe to move, as whether another lender will be prepared to take on someone currently in an IVA - it will mark you out as presenting a high risk (fairly or otherwise).

Highly unlikely any mortgage company would offer you a mortgage whilst in an IVA

I managed to have my ex wife removed from mine but it had to go as a special case for consideration by my existing lender
