Car Warranty

Afternoon

My first post on here, so I hope I do it right.

Last year I bought a car from Imperial Cars and got the 3 year gold warranty with extended Diesel Particle Filter cover.

The DPF failed 3 weeks ago and now Auto Protect will not honor my claim. The garage it went too was the Imperial Cars official one and they said that the DPF had failed, so mechanical issue. Auto Protect sent and assessor out and he says it was wear and tear and that an additive level being low was the cause. The garage said he did not even physically check the levels....

Oh the cost of the repair if approx £700-800.

Now I've been told to get an independent assessor out to do a examination, but that will cost money.

What can I do ? Is this a small claims issue ? Who do I complain to officially ?

Thank you for your help and advice in advance
