Virgin Applying Contract Cancellation Charges

I cancelled with virgin, this was months after my contract was complete, so I just had to give 30 days notice. They took normal payment for the month and this then left me in credit by £45 after everything was done.
Virgin then decided to create £47 of contract cancellation charges which left me with a small debit.
It feels like they are just hoping I wouldn't notice and just pay it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Could the reason be that other providers make a cease charge for cancelling; ie. if you don't let another company 'take over your line, but Virgin is different, as it uses its own network, so you have to have a cease ?0

I got charged £25 for cancelling my broadband-only package with Virgin when I moved house. It wasn't an ETC but a cancellation charge. Apparently its in the terms and conditions.0
