Hair Group Voucher

Does anyone remember this from Martin's Money Tips email sometime in January? I've just been reading some of the old threads. There was a voucher in Good Housekeeping which you sent off, and the Hair Group contact you to arrange an appointment for you to have a free hair cut. I sent the voucher off and never heard a thing, even though their website says there's a salon less than a mile from my house. I wrote to them about it but they didn't reply. A few weeks later I saw another voucher in What to Wear Magazine, and this time I filled in my work address. I work in central London, so they must have at least one salon there. I still haven't heard anything. This is really poor. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice?

The Hair Group, telephone 0870 7942077, speak to Ruth on Ext 205.

I got a voucher through eve magazine & my local salon got in touch with me pretty quickly. I was rather impressed, as I was expecting to have to chase it up.
The letter offered me a free haircut & 25% off colour, so I duly booked in for a cut, finish & highlights.
The salon was shocking. No-one spoke to me the whole time I was there apart from essential "sit here", "tip your head back" type comments. The staff were rude, ignorant & far too busy chatting amongst themselves to worry about the customers.
All I got was 25% off highlights. The price of the cut & finish was not deducted from the bill. I paid it because a) it was cheaper than my normal salon for highlights & b) I was so fed up I couldn't be bothered to argue. I was hoping I'd get a feedback form from the hairgroup so I could let them know how poor it was, but I never did.
I put the whole thing down to experience.......so if you're still waiting for your "free" haircut, don't get too excited. It wasn't that great.0 -
I spoke to Ruth at the Hair Group today who gave me the number of the salon where my voucher was sent in Jan, but she said they left the Hair Group in Feb, so I would have to explain to them that they still owed me a cut. As I expected the salon refused to honour the agreement but offered me 50% off as a "good will gesture", which I turned down. I called Ruth again and she has now forwarded my details to a different salon. So I think maybe some of the salons are at fault rather than the Hair Group. The salon could have sent the voucher back to the Hair Group or contacted me to say they weren't doing it anymore, but they didn't bother.0

Glad to hear you got through

I was called by the hairdresser within a couple of weeks of sending off the voucher but had to then wait about 6 weeks for the first available appointment, as they only honour the vouchers on Mondays! I've now had the haircut and I am really pleased with it, so it seems to work in Edinburgh!0

I was offered a haircut at a salon about 30 miles away, despite the fact that there is one just down the road. When I queried this, I was told that they could send me to any salon they liked, so long as it was within 45 miles.
I told them I was no longer interested and to remove my details from their database. Fortunately I didn't have to pay for the magazine initially as a customer gave it to me (perk of the job!)0
