Finding dss accepted homes

I was wondering if anyone knows any sites that I can look on to try and find homes for rent that accept dss? I can't seem to find any properties that will accept it

Presume you mean you hope & expect to be in receipt of HB/LHA when renting a private property.
Best thing, go round all the local agents, smart & polite, expect them to be rude mainly but maybe you might get lucky...0 -
I guess you mean you're on benefits. I rent a house out and accept people on benefits. As a general rule, people on benefits require rented housing. Landlords who will not consider claimants as tenants get my goat.
If you've not done so already, it might be a good idea to hawk yourself around all the letting agents you can find, in ultra polite, ultra reasonable mode, emphasising anything that potential landlords might see as a plus such as lack of pets, lack of children, actively seeking work, references, having a guarantor lined up etc. etc.
The one & only time I used an agent I was shocked by the extent of their prejudices, but they did pass on a description of potential tenants they liked.0 -

I think that's unfair By accepting those who are on benefits you're accepting a third cog to your income stream.
And the worst of all. Government.
I'm not saying all agents/LL's are right but why would a business not try and mitigate it's risk..?0 -

I use Open Rent dot co dot uk, and do all the hard work myself, because I feel that the business model of the letting agent is CHURN. They would rather find someone who will want to move in 6 months, than someone who is planning on staying 6 years.
My BTL mortgage with Virgin Money, has T&C's which prevent me taking on tenants in receipt of housing benefit. I'm not sure what happens if the tenants I have suddenly need help with the rent, because it would be unfair to issue them with an S21 just because someone else is paying the bill.0 -
Yea I mean housing benefit, I can't work due to health reasons, I still live at home but at 25 I want my own space0

Contact your local council and see if they have a list of landlords that accept benefits.0

To play devils advocate, I rent to a family on benefits and they're good tenants. BUT.... my landlord's insurance costs more and it was a pig when it came to re-mortgaging as a lot of mortgage companies won't let you rent to people on benefits. So aside from any social prejudice, I can see why a lot of Landlords don't.0
