Leaving handover notes on completion day?

We left all the relevant paperwork, any leftover paint, wallpaper, tiles, etc and a new home card.0

We've done it for every house we've sold apart from the last one, completed 4 weeks ago. People buying from us were the Buyers from Hell. Failed to exchange twice (once could be deemed unlucky or incompetent, but twice...)
The entire four month selling experience was sheer purgatory and we wish we'd told them to get lost around June time, when we got the first inklings. Then, the longer it went on, the more we felt committed to them.
So we left them diddly squat and wish them nothing but misfortune. So there.0 -
Like others, about 7 pages of stuff I called "The Knowledge," all the spare keys (labelled) paint, tiles, wine, flowers..... and a newspaper cutting showing the last two (then new build) houses for sale in the road....at around 130 times less than the price my buyers paid! :rotfl:0

Dafty - Wow! That is a lot of work to put in and I'm sure every buyer you had more than appreciated it. Well done you.
Dave - A bit mean but I can't lie, I did have a bit of a chuckle!
Hope my vendors are as lovely as some of you lot when we complete.0 -
For me it all depends on how the buyers have been through the process. If they have stuck to dates and all gone smoothly I leave notes for keys, pack of instructions for appliances and takeaway menus etc.
If they have dragged things or reduced the price they get nothing!0 -

First time seller here. Our sale completes this week. It would seem polite to leave some handover notes for the new buyer explaining how various things in the flat work, i.e. heating, hot water etc.
I haven't heard much mention of others doing this. Is it a normal thing to do? Or is there a strong legal reason not to leave any message behind for the buyer?
Implications? None0 -

I left nothing. Twice. Not even then heating instructions. If they wanted to know something, they shouldn't have been such !!!!'s in attempting to wring out the last penny out of the deal until we squeaked.
On the subject of drawing on walls, we found a very cool picture done by a child behind 2 layers of wood chip in our lounge. I took a photo of it.0 -
