When to spend on which card

Hi all

Simply question that I'm just not able to get my head around!

I've got two credit cards that I pay in full every month.
Card A statement is sent on 21st of each month.
Card b is 2nd each month

How should I spend using the card to get the longest interest free days?!

Cheers

In theory, you should do all your spending on the day that the statement for each card is produced.

You might spend on one from just after the statement date until the other produces its statement, then switch.

In practice, it won't make a vast amount of difference unless you have a large transaction one month, and if you do you might decide to vary things slightly anyway, by putting that on one card and most other stuff on the other.

If you have a month when you can foresee a cash flow issue and you won't be able to pay in full, then estimate the shortfall and aim to have about that amount remaining on the lower interest card, pay minimum there and still pay the other in full.

Barclaycard have been bugging me with their statements recently because it isn't produced on the statement date. My recent statement is dated the 3rd of October, I received an email today saying it was ready (5th) and it wasn't available to view yesterday (4th) This means any transactions done on the statement date (3rd) are likely to fetch up on the statement if card A or B is a Barclaycard.
