in Credit cards
Hello, I was wondering if you could help.
I recently applied for a Halifax transfer card as I have a few balances I'd like to transfer. MSE had me down as 60% chance of being accepted. Went through the application process and it asked me for a credit limit, the offer came back less than that but that's ok. I filled in my bank details, direct debit, which cards to transfer to, etc and then it asked for my ID. I took my ID to the local branch and they said it would be a "few days". This was Saturday but the balance hasn't cleared and I've not heard anything by email or phone yet - but I can't check my normal post this week as I'm away with work.
Does it look like the application has been accepted or is there a letter due saying "sorry, you've not been accepted this time"?
Thanks!

It was a referral, and subject to your ID checking out. You should be ok.0

If they came back with a credit limit then you can assume you are approved.
BT always takes a while which is why you always get the caveat reminding you to continue making minimum payments as they can't guarantee a timescale.0 -
Hello
Thanks for the quick replies! The guy who took my ID did say something like "it'll be 5-7 days before your card comes through" so I thought it was all sorted but when I walked away I wasn't sure. It'll help me plan my finances going forward. Thanks again.0 -
BT are processed only when you activate the card, so you need to wait for your new card and activate it.0

Hello, I am sorry but this is not right. I have done loads of BT without activating the card.. In fact most of the cards have used for BT have not been activated.
Sorry to correct you on this one.0 -
I suppose it would be correct to say that you 'might' need to activate the card in order to initiate the BT.
Tesco CC required activation before processing a BT.0
