Not sure if I've been accepted

Hello, I was wondering if you could help.

I recently applied for a Halifax transfer card as I have a few balances I'd like to transfer. MSE had me down as 60% chance of being accepted. Went through the application process and it asked me for a credit limit, the offer came back less than that but that's ok. I filled in my bank details, direct debit, which cards to transfer to, etc and then it asked for my ID. I took my ID to the local branch and they said it would be a "few days". This was Saturday but the balance hasn't cleared and I've not heard anything by email or phone yet - but I can't check my normal post this week as I'm away with work.

Does it look like the application has been accepted or is there a letter due saying "sorry, you've not been accepted this time"?

Thanks!

It was a referral, and subject to your ID checking out. You should be ok.

If they came back with a credit limit then you can assume you are approved.

BT always takes a while which is why you always get the caveat reminding you to continue making minimum payments as they can't guarantee a timescale.

Thanks for the quick replies! The guy who took my ID did say something like "it'll be 5-7 days before your card comes through" so I thought it was all sorted but when I walked away I wasn't sure. It'll help me plan my finances going forward. Thanks again.

BT are processed only when you activate the card, so you need to wait for your new card and activate it.

Hello, I am sorry but this is not right. I have done loads of BT without activating the card.. In fact most of the cards have used for BT have not been activated.

Sorry to correct you on this one.

I suppose it would be correct to say that you 'might' need to activate the card in order to initiate the BT.

Tesco CC required activation before processing a BT.

Guess I was being a little over pedantic? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::o
