New build - plot boundary

Hi,
I've been looking at new builds and have found a property which is side on to some greenbelt land. (The developers own the land and I guess at some point they will come back and build on it)
The garden of the plot I'm looking at isn't great, and the sales rep basically said so too. What they also said is that 'All your neighbors will be moving the fence line once we are off site'. Basically she was saying people would be making their gardens bigger.
The field currently has horses on it, which are fenced off about 50 foot from the houses.
It seems wrong that this has been mentioned to me, I guess that I would never own the land, however if I did buy the house and move the fence say 10 ft, what repercussions could there be in the future?
Would the developer possibly allocate me the land without being underhanded? (As part of the sale)

I presume the plot boundary corresponds with the planning consent? Moving it 10ft back (or buying it now from the developer) means you'd end up using 10ft of garden ground in breach of planning. The developer would be entitled to evict you whenever they felt like it. Also makes things messier when you come to sell or remortgage.0
