Need some help as my daughter recieved a parking charge from euro car parks at Church Farm Stockton Heath, she overstayed the free period, but the restraunt we were in take your registration number and enter it on a screen to stop any potential pcn's, they obviously entered it incorrectly!! When we got the pcn i spoke to the establishment and they said they would sort it. Next we recieve a letter from a debt collector so i emailed the resteraunt and got a reply from the manager/assistant manager asking for a copy of the pcn so that he could get it cancelled. I thought that would be the end of it! Just recieved another letter from the debt collectors offering instalment payments etc etc and the charge is now £150. I have emailed the restraunt again but cant get any reply. I have emailed Euro Car parks and they have replied saying we have to deal with the debt collectors now as its too late for them to do anything. Anyone got any idea what i should do?

If you've got written confirmation from the restaurant, then you complain to the BPA (and copy to the DVLA) that despite this cancellation, the PPC, through their DCA is still pursuing you, when clearly the charge must be cancelled.
Another administrative error, no doubt.
Complaints to the BPA and DVLA can be emailed to:

Do as Umkomaas suggests, I would email the BPA, as we have done before. Good luck with the BPA's finest, Joanna, who tried to fob off 'LoveNorfolk' in that thread, then ended up with egg on her face!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Debt collector letters arent worth the paper they are written on, however i would strongly suggest that you get a written confirmation from the principal who took on the parking company they they have instructed to cancel.
the ..
Dear parking scum, As you have been instructed by your principal to cancel this parking charge notice you must now take the following action:
The immediate removal of my data form any data bases you may have ( as per the Data protection act) and the issuing of a full apology.
If you or your associates continue to send letters demanding money or other such communications i will have no option than to consider charging you for wasting my time at £19 per hour plus any other reasonable expenses.
As a Gesture of goodwill I will forgo any expenses/costs upto this point on the condition that you carry out the above, thank you. From the Plain Language Commission:

Well just had a reply from BPA as follows
"Thank you for your email, email chain and attachment.
We have considered carefully the information that you have provided however please be advised that the BPA cannot directly help with a parking charge notice (PCN). The BPA is a membership association and not a regulatory body. This means that whilst we will address any actual breaches of the code of practice by our members’ we do not have the resource or authority to deal with complaints about individual parking charge notices or intervene in the debt enforcement process. Likewise we are unable to make representations to a land owner regarding the issuing of a PCN.
You have advised that the restaurant have admitted to the error resulting in the issuing of the PCN however, on the basis of the foregoing, the Parking Operator was acting in good faith in undertaking their contractual obligations with the owner of the land.
In this instance having reviewed all of the information we would not consider there to be a breach of the AOS Code of Practice.
We can only suggest that should you have any further questions you should have be addressed to the Restaurateur (acting on behalf of the land owner), the Parking Operator and/ or the Debt Recovery Agency.
We are sorry that we can be of no further assistance to you."
Looks like i may be snookered, Too late to appeal through no fault of my own:(0 -
Oh pleeeeeeease...don't be daft. You are seriously NOT thinking you have to pay this? OMG you are on this forum and you (seemingly) haven't read anything?! What DO you mean by 'snookered'? You actually believe the BPA's pointless fob-off reply means you are stuck? This would be laughable if it wasn't sad that you actually believe you should pay this...
What do you think we all did before any appeal existed in 2012? Do you think we all said 'oh we are snookered, let's pay...'?!
Sorry but read the forum and for the love of God just email the parking firm and point out the stupid thing was cancelled by the restaurant. You have their email addy on the silly 'PCN' (piece of shredder-fodder paper). If they disagree or don't reply, or carry on sending silly letters, IGNORE THEM. It's only poxy little Euro Car Parks who have no clue about litigation and never sue anyone.
I've ignored their debt collector letter chain drivel letters myself, come on, wise up. The stupid 'fake PCN' is cancelled by the restaurant but even if it wasn't, canny MSE posters do not teach a young driver that if there is no appeal then you have to PAY these things!
No wonder this industry makes so much money if the UK public continue to act gullibly & just roll over and pay the scumbags and set an example of 'being a pushover victim of scams' to young drivers like your daughter (sorry, harsh but true, READ this forum!).
I have a young driver daughter myself and she can pretty much understand any parking sign known to man/woman and she knows all about how to appeal, what to say, what not to say, where to park and where not to park - but mainly she knows that private parking PCNs are not real 'fines' and are NOT to be paid, whether there was a 'contravention' or not.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The restaurant said they would deal with their contractors and you are considering paying debt collectors who can't do anything!
I am gobsmacked!!0 -
There is no way i'm rolling over and paying, because i believe that i am in the right!! I was looking for ideas from forum members as just ignoring debt collectors letters probably wouldnt work? so i just sent an email to euro car parks (not admitting driver details etc), with a copy of the email from the retailer authorising cancellation, and requesting that they bother me no more without good reason. I will let you know what happens next!! I wouldnt mind but took friends out last Saturday to the same establishment and spent nearly £200.00 after thanking the manager for what i thought was cancellation of the PCN!!0

Ignoring Euro Car Parks works too. If you pay, you've been mugged. Neither DRP nor ECP won't do anything except computerised letters - the same ones that everyone gets and laugh at here every day; you've almost fallen for a scam akin to a phishing email.
The first PCN I ever ignored was an ECP one!
No, it doesn't affect your credit rating. No, you don't get a CCJ as long as you update the idiots if you move house, so you can be sure they've not sneaked in a late court claim (not that ECP know what to do but they might sell the debt to MIL or something so you need to be sure - merely by laughing at each letter - that it's only stupid old DRP or PCS or Zenith letters all along - all the same firm).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
